A PET/CT fusion plug-in module and automated processing of 4-D cardiac MR are among new product introductions for Cedara.
Cedara’s PET/CT fusion plug-in is designed to improve the clinical workflow of radiology viewers, according to the Mississauga, Ontario-based firm. The module, which provides fused 2-D and 3-D display of PET and CT data, is available with Cedara’s I-Softview PACS viewers or as a plug-in module for third-party workstation software.
The firm will also focus on its technology partnership program, designed to help start-ups and research groups bridge the gap between technology development and commercialization.
I-AcquireVideo is a new Cedara software application designed to extend the life of legacy modality scanners. The software upgrades any image acquisition device to a Windows-based user interface utilizing standard PC hardware, Cedara said.
Another introduction, Baby Explorer, allows expecting parents to view 3-D images of their unborn baby during routine ultrasound visits. Using volume-rendering techniques , sonographers can create 3-D fetal views that display the baby’s anatomical features with a few mouse clicks, Cedara said. The 3-D image of the fetus and ultrasound scan can be saved to a CD.
Shown last year as a work-in-progress, I-Reach will be featured as a full-blown Web-based PACS network. Cedara has also added progressive decompression technology to I-Reach for improved image display performance.
Cedara will also tout a mammography workflow package that combines an acquisition console application and an image review workstation for digital mammography. The acquisition console will be available in early 2004, with the workstation following in the spring.
