GE will be focusing on new developments in its Centricity integrated RIS/PACS program.
The company will be directing attention to its Centricity Enterprise image and information management system, which can handle workflow needs for radiology and cardiology departments with a single system, according to the Waukesha, WI-based vendor. With Centricity Enterprise, referring physicians receive access (often from the hospital electronic medical record) to a single patient jacket, which includes radiology and cardiology images, reports, and waveforms.
At the show, GE will be showing access to the patient jacket from Centricity’s Physician Office EMR, as well as the Centricity Perioperative Manager application. The firm will also display a sample data center showing how all radiology and cardiology data can be housed in a single storage infrastructure. Centricity Enterprise is available now in the Americas, Europe, and Asia, and the firm has several customers using the system.
GE will also highlight the latest version of Centricity RIS/PACS, which includes support for PET/CT and digital mammography studies. Navigational tools for large datasets have been improved, as have desktop customization capabilities, according to the vendor.
The RIS component features advanced scheduling capabilities, as well as Web-based reporting with embedded speech recognition/digital dictation capabilities, GE said. Centricity RIS/PACS comes in several localized versions, which are available in different parts of the world.
Among its works in progress, GE will show server-level integration between Centricity and post-processing applications from GE’s Advantage workstation, as well as with TeraRecon’s AquariusNet software. RIS/PACS integration between these two platforms confers easier navigation and speedier diagnosis for imaging modalities producing larger datasets, GE said. Centricity RIS/PACS users will be able to apply on-the-fly 3-D rendering capability and access Advantage workstation clinical applications with a single click.
