(Booth 4800) Agfa HealthCare of Greenville, SC, will feature a range of viewing and advanced visualization software and technology for its Impax product line in its RSNA booth this year.
The vendor will spotlight Impax Mobility, Web-deployable software for image and result viewing across the enterprise. It utilizes server-size computing, adaptive streaming, and micro-footprint client technology to provide access to all data and viewing tools on any device, at any location, and over any type of network connection, Agfa said.
Impax Mobility can be used by clinicians, specialists, diagnosticians, and referring physicians, and it includes a set of 2D and 3D image review and manipulation tools. It can be added to Agfa's Impax Data Center or Impax software, as well as third-party PACS networks, Agfa said.
In Impax RIS/PACS developments, Agfa will highlight integrated advanced applications and new progressive display tools. Advanced clinical applications on display for Agfa's Impax PACS software include its work-in-progress Virtual Colonoscopy package, which can allow physicians to begin reading a complete CT colonoscopy dataset in approximately 20 seconds, according to the firm.
Impax Registration and Fusion provides radiologists with a set of automated tools for comparing high-resolution images. Images can be compared from the same modality or from different types of modalities, Agfa said. In addition, the software supports x-ray image types as well as nuclear medicine studies via registration and fusion of PET with CT and/or PET with MR images, according to the firm.
Agfa will also show Impax OrthoGon, an advanced measurement tool for orthopedic and pediatric specialists. Another application, Impax X-Ray Angio Analysis, provides for vendor-independent review of DICOM x-ray angiography images, while Impax RDS allows radiologists and other specialists to access a comprehensive radiology database of diagnoses, case examples, and images.
The company also will highlight its SE Management Suite, an archiving, distribution, and viewing package for managing computed radiography images. It includes three components: SE Server, SE Client, and SE Standalone.
In other work-in-progress demonstrations, Agfa will show Impax Data Center Viewer. The Web-based medical imaging viewer is designed to provide access to imaging information for clinicians at any point of care, regardless of network constraints or variance in platforms and administrative rules, according to the vendor. It employs the Xero open architecture framework.
