(Booth 4209) At RSNA 2008, DR Systems of San Diego will present version 8.2 of its Unity RIS/PACS platform, which includes new upgrades and access to electronic medical records.
Version 8.2 features a number of new enhancements, including expanded applications on client-supplied hardware, critical results tracking, and DICOM structured reports, according to DR Systems.
The CS Series Workstations provide sites with the ability to use the full range of Unity RIS/PACS software features on hardware supplied by the customer, DR Systems said. Another new feature for peer-review purposes allows users to evaluate prior exam reports and diagnoses completed by other physicians in the practice.
In other 8.2 additions, users can gain access to Unity via enterprise-based and physician office electronic medical records. DR Systems said it also has added multiple-volume support for greater system scalability, data safety, configuration flexibility, and system availability.
The firm's Sentinel monitoring functionality has also been upgraded; it can now send e-mails to configured customer representatives when a site's status changes. In addition, a list of all station IDs in use at a site can now also be displayed, DR Systems said.
Version 8.2 is scheduled to be released in the first quarter of 2009.
In works-in-progress demonstrations, DR Systems will present Unity RIS/PACS operating in a virtualized server environment. An ultra-thin-client clinical review application also will be shown.
