Emageon

(Booth 8537) Emageon of Birmingham, AL, will highlight its HeartSuite and RadSuite software packages and also will discuss the company's pending sale to Health Systems Solutions (HSS) of New York City.

Emageon's RadSuite advanced visualization and image management software includes tools such as 2D imaging, 3D surface and volume rendering, and real-time multiplanar reformatting, Emageon said. Other features include real-time oblique imaging, integrated fusion, JPEG2000-based adaptive bandwidth technology, presentation states, annotation, and measurement tools. It also supports enterprise worklist and prior study management, Emageon said.

HeartSuite offers an integrated suite of cardiology tools for enterprise-wide imaging, content, and information management, Emageon said. HeartSuite includes Emageon's Vericis image and information management system, Hemodynamics hemodynamic monitoring system, and CardioVascular Information System (CVIS).

Vericis generates a digital record of images and reports for patients from cardiac catheterization, echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, and nuclear cardiology, according to the firm. CVIS integrates all clinical and operational information from multiple systems and locations into one cardiology information system, while Hemodynamics provides for data collection, waveform analysis, inventory control, patient charging, and procedure reporting for the catheterization lab.

Other HeartSuite features include ECG Management, a single interface to Vericis for storing, analyzing, and reporting on a patient's electrocardiogram, and Echo IMS for echocardiography and information management. A Web Reporting module integrates complete cardiac patient data on a single display, while the company's 4D Echo visualization and analysis functionality is designed to integrate 4D echo applications in the clinical workflow, according to the vendor. HeartSuite also includes national registry support to simplify quality improvement efforts, Emageon said.

Emageon on October 13 announced that it had agreed to be acquired by Health Systems Solutions in a deal valued at $62 million. The new entity will have approximately 400 employees, and Emageon's current management will continue to operate the business as part of HSS' group of companies.
