(Booth 5401) Meta Fusion will emphasize the multisite workflow benefits of its RIS/PACS architecture on the show floor of McCormick Place.
The company will present a distributed server configuration for multisite PACS/RIS environments. In this approach, multiple servers -- usually one at each site -- collaborate across a network to integrate information, functioning as autonomous peers, according to the Silicon Valley, CA-based vendor.
Meta Fusion believes this approach offers workflow advantages: if one server fails, the entire RIS/PACS will continue to operate, according to the firm. It also provides scalability benefits, Meta Fusion said.
In other news, the firm will show integration with the open-source OsiriX viewer for the Macintosh platform. The next generation of OsiriX is expected to receive U.S. Food and Drug Administration clearance next year, Meta Fusion said.
