Sorna of Rosemount, MN, expanded its line of CD/DVD burners for radiology applications with new product introductions at the Symposium for Computer Applications in Radiology meeting earlier this week.
FilmX CD/DVD Cam5i is a new CD/DVD recorder designed for light-duty use by imaging centers, hospital radiology departments, and other facilities. It supports the DICOM 3.0 standard, has a 50-disc capacity, and features a 2,400 dpi inkjet printer and template creation software for custom label production. The system will be available in July.
CD Cam Version 5.3 is a software update that supports the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) security rule by adding audit management functionality. Sorna has also added new features to the LiteBox Viewer software embedded on every CD produced with its devices.
Sorna also launched two new software module options for use with all FilmX CD/DVD Cam systems. A structured report option integrates and displays structured reports in conjunction with radiology images on FilmX CDs and DVDs, while an eCam option enables a single system to simultaneously have both manual and automatic CD creation capability.
