MCQ Companion to Applied Radiological Anatomy by Arockia Doss, Matthew J. Bull, Alan Sprigg, and Paul D. Griffiths
Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, UK, $33.40 (19.95 pounds sterling)
This companion book to Applied Radiological Anatomy features questions based on the six specific modules used in the FRCR 2A exam format in the U.K. These are the same themes and topics covered in the American Board of Radiology’s clinical examination.
Four academic radiologists, who did not participate in the authorship of the original text, created the questions, which correspond to chapters in the source material. The format has questions on one page with the answers located on the opposite page. This eliminates the tedious task of hunting for the answers in another part of the book.
The MCQ Companion also features a complete index, which is rarely found in study guides. Again, this reduces the time and frustration of hunting down a specific topic. Additionally, helpful mnemonics is offered to simplify information recall.
The questions range from basic to difficult, allowing a reader to assess competence and pinpoint deficits. The book does stand alone, and can be used independently to test one’s knowledge base. A future version of this title may be available on CD for those who are electronically inclined.
