Given Imaging gets reimbursement for Crohn’s disease

Video-capsule manufacturer Given Imaging has reported that the health plans of the Wellpoint Healthcare Network of Thousand Oaks, CA, and the Regence Group of Portland, OR, have expanded their capsule endoscopy coverage policies to include suspected Crohn’s disease, the Yoqneam, Israel-based firm said.

Both organizations already have existing capsule endoscopy coverage statements for obscure gastrointestinal bleeding, according to Given Imaging.
