Excluding currency effects and portfolio changes, revenues at Siemens Medical Solutions of Erlangen, Germany, grew 6% for the 2004 fiscal year (end-September 30).
Siemens Medical Solutions reported total sales of 7.072 billion euros ($9.13 billion U.S.) for the year, compared to 7.422 billion euros ($9.583 billion) in fiscal 2003. The results represent a drop of 5% on an actual basis, but up 6% when adjusted for the impact of currency changes and the loss of revenue from businesses that Siemens divested during the year, according to the firm.
For the fourth quarter of 2004, Siemens Medical delivered revenue of 2.046 billion euros ($2.641 billion), up slightly on an actual basis compared to the 2.04 billion euros ($2.632 billion) in the same period of 2003, but up 7% when adjusted for currency and portfolio effects.
The company said that orders for the fourth quarter grew 7% on an actual basis and 14% on an adjusted basis. For the year, orders grew 4% on an actual basis and 15% on an adjusted basis.
