Eastman Kodak Health Imaging said it has developed a new medical imaging x-ray film designed to cut radiation dose in half while maintaining the same image quality available with existing film.
The higher-speed film will also reduce retakes due to patient movement during exposure, according to the Rochester, NY-based vendor. The new general-purpose film will be tested at healthcare facilities in the U.S., and at several European countries in August, Kodak said.
