Barco releases Nio upgrade

Diagnostic display provider Barco has released the next generation of its Nio diagnostic grayscale display systems, according to the Kortrijk, Belgium-based vendor.

The display system family, available in 2-megapixel (MP), 3-MP, and 5-MP resolutions and single- and dual-head configurations, has been enhanced with a new display controller, the BarcoMed Nio, and updated NioWatch software, the company said. The BarcoMed Nio, which features the firm's proprietary Aura technology, produces 256 simultaneous grays out of a palette of 1024 and has a 64-bit PCI interface permitting image download speeds up to 200 MB per second.
