Imaging center chain Miracor Diagnostics reported 2002 revenue of $12 million, up 29% compared with the $9.3 million posted in 2001. For the year (end-December 31), the San Diego-based firm had net income of $279,000, compared with net income of $330,000 in 2001.
In its fourth quarter, Miracor had revenue of $3.4 million, up 40.6% compared with the $2.4 million posted in the fourth quarter of 2001. The company had a fourth-quarter net loss of $154,000, compared with net income of $61,000 in the same period last year.
Miracor CEO Lee Hulsebus said that the firm was negatively impacted by weaker scan volumes and additional costs associated with adding five new centers in the fourth quarter. Miracor's strategy of adding centers in select markets and aligning with key referral sources is on track, and is expected to have positive benefits for Miracor in 2003, Hulsebus said.
