Dr. Carl Fuhrman, who served as the chief of thoracic radiology and a medical school professor at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) for the last 27 years, has died.
The 67-year-old died of a heart attack on June 27 while working at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, according to his obituary in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. His funeral mass will be held on July 9, and a memorial service will be held outside of UPMC Presbyterian on July 15 at noon.
A Radiology Education Fund has also been established in Furhman's memory. More information can be found in his obituary by the Erie Times-News.
