Arab Health 2017 concluded on 2 February in Dubai with the Leaders in Healthcare conference, a symposium that featured discussions on the challenges and opportunities in adopting innovative technologies such as robotics, drones, and 3D printing in healthcare.
The Leaders in Healthcare conference was held under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Dubai. In her keynote speech, Haya said physicians, patients, and the system must be equipped with the right tools and knowledge in order to ensure successful adoption of new technology in healthcare.
"We also need to improve medical training to ensure future generations of doctors are proficient in the use of technology, social media, and digital platforms," she said.
Haya also toured some of the vendor, service provider, and manufacturer exhibits at Arab Health 2017. There were 4,400 exhibits at this year's meeting, according to the conference organizers.
