A Los Angeles radiologist who tested positive for COVID-19 after receiving a vaccine for the illness is warning that breakthrough cases are possible, according to a report posted June 11 on Fox News 11 in Los Angeles.
Dr. Eugene Choi of Kaiser Permanente got his second dose of the Pfizer vaccine six months ago, but he has contracted COVID-19 again and is under quarantine, Fox reported. Los Angeles County Public Health says that breakthrough cases account for 0.03% of all vaccinated resident, according to Fox.
"It works for the majority of the population," Choi said in the Fox story. "On the basis of data, most people won't get sick. But it's still possible."
