Eastman Kodak Health Group said that it will launch a new multicassette CR system, CR 975, at the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA) meeting in San Antonio, August 7-11.
The Rochester, NY-based firm said the CR 975 system has new noise-suppression algorithms for visualizing anatomy in low-contrast areas, such as the heart and mediastinum, and optional 50-micron scanning capabilities to perform digital mammography exams in countries outside the U.S. where it is approved for use.
The device can handle 16 CR cassettes at one time, with eight cassettes queued for processing and eight cassettes erased and ready for new imaging studies. CR 975 has a throughput of more than 100 cassettes (35 x 35 cm) an hour, according to Kodak.
