Radiography vendor Summit Industries debuted three new digital radiography products at the 2005 RSNA conference in Chicago last week.
The firm showcased its AmRad Chest DXR system, Dual Advantage DXR system, and overhead tube support system.
Amrad Chest DXR features a five-year warranty, a 3.4 lp/mm resolution, and a high-frequency generator available in four sizes: 30 kW, 40 kW, 50 kW, and 60 kW. The system has a 17 x 17-inch capture area and is equipped with a charge-coupled device (CCD) digital receptor that captures and stores images in six seconds, Summit said.
The unit will be available next month for a suggested price of $99,500, according to Chicago-based Summit. The device is also available in a DXR wall stand model.
The vendor's AmRad Dual Advantage DXR system is a floor-mounted unit with two CCD digital receptors: on a wall unit and inside the x-ray table. The Dual Advantage system equips a medical imaging room with a four-way float-top radiographic table with reciprocating bucky, a floor-mounted rotational tube stand with tube-trunnion capability, a wall stand, a choice of x-ray tube and collimator, and a selection of high-frequency generators available in four sizes: 30 kW, 40 kW, 50 kW, and 60 kW.
This product has a five-year warranty, a suggested price of $199,950, and will be available in February 2006.
Summit's AmRad DXR overhead tube support system features a ceiling-mounted x-ray tube stand designed for hospital emergency rooms and medical clinics that need to conduct faster and more accurate anatomical studies in trauma situations, the company said. The device has digital receptors placed on both the wall stand and inside the x-ray table to simplify precise tube positioning and maximize efficiency.
The system permits exams ranging from skull through weight-bearing with a tube head that rotates 300° around a telescopic vertical column and 240° around the horizontal axis with positive indents every 90°, Summit said.
The product has a five-year warranty, a suggested price of $220,000, and will be available in February.
All AmRad DXR units are DICOM 3.0 compatible and can function as an acquisition station or can be integrated into a PACS, the company said.
