Cardiac cath lab technology developer Corindus Vascular Robotics said that its CorPath Percutaneous Robotic-Enhanced Coronary Intervention (PRECISE) study is now under way.
The prospective, single-arm, multicenter clinical trial will initially enroll 154 patients. Investigators will evaluate the safety and effectiveness of CorPath 200 in delivering and manipulating guidewires and stent/balloon systems in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) procedures.
The first PCI procedures using the firm's CorPath 200 system were performed at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center in New York City and St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Boston.
