Samsung Electronics America has announced the U.S. commercial release of its first U-arm-based digital radiography (DR) system.
XGEO GU60A incorporates Samsung technologies that have been introduced across its DR portfolio, from the flat-panel detector (FPD) design and autopositioning functions to advanced image processing software.
Using a Samsung thin-film transistor (TFT)-based FPD, XGEO GU60A incorporates proprietary adaptive local contrast stretching (ALCOS) software with customizable postimage processing for contrast and edge sharpness.
The system's flexible U-arm can be rotated from +120° to -30° or raised and lowered to suit the application, while the autopositioning function enables the user to program the most frequently used positions and automatically swivel into place. LED indicator lights highlight each procedural step, Samsung said.
