Interventional technology firm Cook Medical has released a new histology needle for endoscopic ultrasound.
The EchoTip ProCore high-definition ultrasound biopsy needle allows the retrieval of tissue samples from hard-to-reach regions within or adjacent to the gastrointestinal tract using a minimally invasive procedure, according to Cook. The single-use, disposable needle allows targeting of small lesions with increased sampling yields, with the potential for fewer needle passes than what was previously available, the company said.
