Nallamshetty tapped as radiology chair at USF Health

Dr. Krishna Nallamshetty has been appointed as chair of the department of radiology at the University of South Florida's USF Health Morsani College of Medicine.

In his new position, Nallamshetty will lead the radiology department's operational performance and seek to enhance the department's prominence in the U.S. by generating world-class research, education achievement, and excellent clinical care, according to a statement from Dr. Charles Lockwood, dean of the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine.

Nallamshetty is chief of staff and a board member at Tampa General Hospital, while also serving as associate chief medical officer at national radiology group Radiology Partners.

He earned his medical degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, and he later completed his radiology residency at Tufts University. He then completed a joint radiology and cardiology cardiovascular imaging fellowship at Harvard Medical School.

Prior to being named chair at USF, Nallamshetty served as president of Radiology Associates of Florida for nine years. Nallamshetty has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications, and he lectures internationally in cardiac and vascular imaging.
