Dear AuntMinnie Member,
Molecular breast imaging (MBI) is a new breast imaging modality that's piquing interest in women's imaging circles. But many questions remain about MBI, including its adoption in an era of tight budgets, concerns over radiation dose, and its potential as a screening tool for women with dense breasts.
We answer many of these questions for you in Advances in Molecular Breast Imaging, a new Special Report on AuntMinnie.com. The report includes five in-depth articles that analyze MBI from every angle, helping you decide whether this technology is right for your practice.

France pursues national PACS
In other news, French government officials are debating whether to launch a massive project that would create a national network for storing medical images, according to an article by senior editor Erik L. Ridley in our PACS Digital Community.
French officials see the opportunity for reducing healthcare costs by enabling all medical images generated in the country to be stored in a long-term vendor-neutral archive. The archive would use established protocols for interoperability, such as DICOM, HL7, and other standards.
Ultimately, officials foresee savings of 70 million euros ($90 million U.S.) a year -- no small amount in an era of budget austerity. To learn more, click here or go to pacs.auntminnie.com.
