Data-Ray monitor promises clear color for CRT screens

A new flat-panel monitor from Data-Ray that eliminates distortion will begin shipping in April. The DR58f digital color monitor is designed to do away with the lack of clarity that is generally associated with curved CRT screens, according to the company.

The monitor delivers a peak brightness of 130-foot Lamberts, or 455 cd/m2, and can be used with several modalities, including ultrasound and nuclear imaging. The Westminster, CO, company debuted the monitor at the 1999 RSNA meeting in Chicago.
