Siemens Medical Solutions is offering a $1,000 reward for the return of a small container of radioactive material used to calibrate nuclear medicine imaging equipment.
The container, which is about the size of a 35-mm film canister, was in a locked toolbox in a service engineer's company-issued vehicle and was among items stolen at approximately 10 p.m. on December 9 in Statesville, NC.
The Malvern, PA-based vendor said that the material does not pose an immediate public health risk.
Siemens said that those returning the canister (serial number 0182LX) will not be questioned or investigated.
