After a review of nuclear medicine accreditation program requirements, the American College of Radiology's (ACR) subcommittee on nuclear medicine physics has eliminated the need for sites to submit SPECT phantoms utilizing thallium-201 (Tl-201), gallium-67 (Ga-67), or indium-111 (In-111).
If sites are using Tl-201, Ga-67, or In-111, they still are required to submit both planar uniformity and planar spatial resolution images with these isotopes.
Sites performing SPECT imaging also still must submit technetium-99m (Tc-99m) SPECT phantom images.
The program change went into effect on September 19.
