Indonesian nuclear technology firm Batan Teknologi (BatanTek) has unveiled plans to build a nuclear medicine facility in the U.S. by 2013 to produce radioisotopes for the U.S. market.
A report in the Jakarta Globe stated that BatanTek's president director, Yudiutomo Imardjoko, is in the U.S. to negotiate a deal for the venture. The subsidiary of the National Atomic Energy Agency exports radioisotopes to several countries in Southeast Asia and plans to begin shipments to China and Japan in October, according to the article.
