Positron signs deal with Russian academy

PET vendor Positron has signed a licensing agreement with the Institute for Nuclear Research of the Russian Academy of Science (INR) in Moscow.

Positron will receive a worldwide license to INR's proprietary technology and the exclusive rights to use that technology to make strontium-82, the precursor to rubidium-82, in North America. In return, INR will receive royalty payments from Positron.

The strontium-82 production technology was developed by Dr. Boris Zhuikov, head of the laboratory radioisotope complex, and colleagues at INR.
