Radioisotope manufacturer International Isotopes has posted financials for the first quarter of 2014 (end-March 31).
Revenue increased by 17%, from $1.7 million for the same period in 2013 to $1.9 million in the first quarter of 2014. The company attributed the increase to the performance of its cobalt products and radiological services segments.
By business segment for the first quarter, International Isotopes reported the following:
- A decrease of 5% in revenue from radiochemical products, from $440,000 in 2013 to $418,000 in 2014
- A decrease of 10% in revenue from nuclear medicine products, from $908,000 in 2013 to $814,000 in 2014

- An increase of 44% in revenue from radiological services, from $87,000 in 2013 to $125,000 in 2014
The company's net loss for the quarter decreased 32% to $452,000, compared with $669,000 for the same period last year. The company ascribed the change to a larger gross profit percentage, as well as a reduction in overall operating costs and expenses.
