In a move that will unite developers of nuclear medicine software, ec2 Software Solutions and Numa have announced an agreement in which ec2 will acquire Numa.
The deal will enable ec2 to leverage Numa technology, in particular Numa's software for radiation exposure monitoring for nuclear medicine (REM-NM), which ec2 will incorporate into its BioDose/NMIS nuclear medicine information system hot lab management product. REM-NM enables information systems to communicate radiopharmaceutical activity administered to patients to RIS, PACS, and electronic medical record networks.
The REM-NM profile feeds data from gamma cameras into nuclear medicine information systems without requiring technologists to manually re-enter data, improving both workflow and quantitation accuracy.
Numa's portfolio of products includes its NumaStatus application for radiation dose information. NumaStatus and other Numa technology will be integrated with ec2's offerings.
