Covidien has introduced its Optistar Elite contrast delivery system.
Optistar Elite, an MR contrast power injector, has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance and the European CE Mark, according to the Hamilton, Bermuda-based firm. It provides improved performance and ease of use compared with the previous Optistar LE model, Covidien said.
Optistar Elite features Covidien's Patency Check feature, which is designed to aid in preventing extravasation, assist in reducing the potential of certain medical errors, and help enhance clinical and workflow efficiency, according to the firm.
