Imaging core lab services provider Medical Metrics (MMI) has been chosen by orthopedic device developer Exactech to conduct an independent evaluation of medical images from its Biphasic Cartilage Repair Implant (BiCRI) investigational device exemption (IDE) clinical trial.
The trial, which will be conducted in Taiwan, will evaluate a novel cartilage repair treatment. The biphasic implant is a two-phase scaffold that is intended to promote integration with subchrondal bone and regeneration of hyaline-like cartilage, according to MMI. The firm said it will provide analysis and management of MR images during the trial.
