A two-day course on breast MRI was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), on April 27 and 28.
The workshop was organized by Philips Healthcare and conducted by Dr. Rola Shaheen, chief of women's imaging at Mafraq Hospital in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and Dr. Gillian Newstead, clinical director for the section of breast imaging at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Participants received hands-on instruction in breast MRI-guided core biopsy, a procedure that is rarely performed in the Middle East.
The event was the first in a series of women's health courses for radiologists; upcoming courses include digital breast imaging for technicians on May 19-20 and MRI for breast technologists on June 7-8, both in Dubai.
