Philips Healthcare has announced an exclusive, multiyear partnership with University Medical Center (UMC) Utrecht in the Netherlands to develop quantitative MRI technology with the university's MR-STAT algorithm.
MR-STAT produces data from a range of quantitative MRI parameters in one scan and offers opportunities for standardizing quantitative MRI, Philips said. The technique maximizes the use of data points and removes the need for prior knowledge such as signal dictionaries.
This enables the standardization of quantitative MRI at very short scan times, making the technique attractive for clinical practices, according to Philips.
