DALLAS - Siemens Medical Solutions is highlighting Soarian Community Access in its booth at the 2005 Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) meeting this week.
Community Access is a Web-based connectivity package that provides information access and online communication to support collaboration among physicians, patients, and other members of the healthcare continuum, according to the Malvern, PA-based vendor. For example, patients can use Community Access to request prescription refills, schedule appointments, seek referrals, ask billing questions, communicate directly with their physician, and maintain an electronic medical record, Siemens said.
In other Siemens news, the company is highlighting the ability of Soarian to support the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) cross-enterprise document-sharing profile. The vendor is participating in the IHE interoperability showcases at the meeting.
