Swedish radiation therapy firm Elekta has recently signed deals in North America and Europe, according to the Stockholm-based developer.
The company said that Centre Hospitalier de Rodez in Rodez, France, has acquired two of its Precise linear accelerators equipped with multileaf collimators and iViewGT imaging systems. The hospital is also buying an integrated oncology information system (OIS) developed by Elekta subsidiary Impac Medical Systems of Mountain View, CA.
Across the Atlantic, the vendor reported that Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto has purchased the Elekta Synergy system for stereotactic radiation therapy. The device includes Elekta's Beam Modulator, an integrated high-resolution multileaf collimator designed to be used on surgical sites outside the brain, such as cancers of the spine, liver, neck, prostate, pancreas, and lung, the company said.
