Radiation oncology firm Elekta has won a contract with a healthcare network in Washington state.
Providence Health & Services of Renton has ordered multiple Elekta cancer management products, including radiation therapy and oncology information systems, as well as multiyear service contracts for its hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities in Washington, Alaska, California, Montana, and Oregon, the company said. The network is the third largest nonprofit health system in the U.S., according to Elekta.
Providence will acquire several of Elekta's Versa HD linear accelerators. Elekta will also provide the network with upgrades to several existing systems, including the integration of its Agility multileaf collimator and XVI (5.0) software. Providence will also begin a system-wide conversion of its existing oncology information system to Elekta's Mosaiq package.
Installation of the new systems will begin immediately and continue through the end of 2016, Elekta said.
