Accuray nabs approval in China

Madison, WI-based radiotherapy firm Accuray said that its Precision treatment planning system (TPS) has been approved for use in China.

The Chinese National Medical Products Administration approved Accuray’s Precision TPS for use in the Tomo C radiation therapy system, a domestically made radiation therapy delivery device, and expands Accuray’s portfolio in China and enhances its access in the market, the company said.

The Precision TPS enables clinicians to routinely incorporate modifications to treatment planning into the course of treatment to account for changes in tumor size, shape, and location, as well as subtle changes in the location of organs and other healthy tissue, and thus increase treatment precision, Accuray said.
