Siemens gets FDA clearance for new Omnia system

Siemens Medical Solutions isn’t giving out much information until its latest Omnia scanner is ready for market, but the Iselin, NJ, vendor has been cleared by the FDA to sell the system.

The new Omnia X/XS platform is a mid-range system that is based on the company’s Omnia and Elegra platforms. The FDA 510(k) summary information for Omnia X/XS lists more than 20 transducers that can be used with the scanner.
