Philips Medical Systems has released Performance 2003, an upgrade to the firm's HDI 5000 ultrasound system. Performance 2003 features several enhancements, including third-generation SonoCT technology with XRES resolution and a new "intelligent" optimization capability that condenses several control-panel functions to a one-button push, according to the Bothell, WA-based vendor.
Philips has also incorporated a microvascular imaging capability to provide visualization of tiny vessels during contrast examinations. Also added is a new P4-1 phased-array transducer to provide significant penetration for deep abdominal examinations, the vendor said.
