Toshiba America Medical Systems has released Famio, a grayscale, 2D ultrasound scanner designed for the physician office market.
Famio features Toshiba's Digital Continuous Beam Former and Tissue Harmonic Imaging technologies, a selection of high-frequency linear-array transducers, and an ergonomic design, according to the Tustin, CA-based vendor. In addition, users can store images on an integrated hard disk or CD-R media.
Unconverted stills and cine loops from the image memory can also be store the same way with Famio's DirectCine access feature, which allows for postmeasurement and offline zoom, Toshiba said. Reports can be printed directly to a PC printer.
