Philips Medical Systems said that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is using its iE33 echocardiography system and QLAB quantification software to evaluate the effects of space flight on the hearts of Space Shuttle astronauts.
In the near future, NASA will also be using the systems to study astronauts on the International Space Station and ground-based analogs, according to the Andover, MA-based vendor.
