Ultrasound technology developer Misonix has launched a global high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) prostate cancer treatment clinical registry.
Designed solely for users of its Sonablate 500 (SB500) system, the registry will serve as a repository for data from centers around the world, according to the Farmingdale, NY-based firm. Data will be used to produce reports for publication in medical journals and for use in other mediums to promote SB500 as a prostate cancer treatment, the company said.
It's currently in use in Germany, and will be launched worldwide in April, Misonix said.
