Chindex to supply Siemens US to Chinese army

International equipment distributor Chindex International has been awarded a contract to supply the Chinese military with ultrasound scanners from Siemens Medical Solutions of Malvern, PA.

Under the terms of the tender agreement, Chindex has been named the exclusive provider of premium color ultrasound scanners to the People's Liberation Army (PLA) hospital system, and the PLA has agreed to purchase at least 15 Sequoia scanners.

The PLA hospital system is the largest centrally administered hospital network in China, and includes nearly 200 institutions, according to Chindex.
