Sales growth in its biochemistry analyzers and high-end ultrasound products contributed to an 8.9% increase in revenues for medical equipment manufacturer Mindray Medical International in its second quarter.
For the period (end-June 30), Mindray had net revenues of $334.5 million, up from $307.2 million in the second quarter of 2013. The company's medical imaging systems segment generated $84.6 million in revenues, up 11.2% from the same period a year ago.
Mindray's profitability dipped slightly during the second quarter, however. The firm reported net income of $59.6 million, down from $62.1 million in the second quarter of 2013.
