Ultrasound technology developer Exo is acquiring artificial intelligence (AI) software developer Medo AI.
The deal will allow Exo to integrate Medo's Sweep AI technology into its ultrasound platform, which will make point-of-care ultrasound available to a wider range of healthcare providers, the company said. Medo AI uses automated image acquisition and interpretation to help less experienced ultrasound users perform high-quality exams, according to Exo.
Exo recently launched Exo Works, a point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) workflow software application. The company is also working on bringing a new handheld ultrasound device to market, it said.
