Eastman Kodak of Rochester, NY, and computer-aided detection firm R2 Technology have signed a joint marketing agreement. The alliance will focus on contracts both vendors have with group purchasing organization Novation.
Under the sole-source agreements, Novation members have access to the Kodak MIN-R 2000 screen-film mammography system and Los Altos, CA-based R2's ImageChecker system. The MIN-R 2000 film system provides the mammographic image, which is digitized and analyzed by ImageChecker. ImageChecker then flags areas of concern for the radiologist to consider, according to the firms.
The new agreement builds on current ties between the companies. In November, Kodak took an equity position in R2, and in October, the vendors formed an alliance to collaborate on integrating new CAD applications into Kodak's current and future CR and DR systems.
