Finnish firm Instrumentarium reported net sales of $84 million for its medical equipment business in the first six months of 2001, 23% higher than the $68.6 million posted last year.
The firm's imaging equipment manufacturer Instrumentarium Imaging also did well, with net sales of $35.1 million, a 21% increase from the $29.1 million reported during the first six months last year. The Milwaukee-based division also increased profitability compared with the same period last year, according to the firm.
Mammography led sales growth in the imaging division, particularly in the U.S. market, according to Instrumentarium. Dental x-ray equipment and surgical C-arm equipment sales also grew during the quarter.
