Mammo display clearance for Siemens

Imaging display developer Siemens Display Technologies of Lafayette, CO, has received 510(k) approval from the Food and Drug Administration for its 5-megapixel liquid-crystal display for mammography applications.

The SMD 21500 display includes a mercury-free blue-tinted backlight technology, dubbed Planon, that features a fast start-up time and 100,000-hour lifetime, according to the company.
