Computer-aided detection (CAD) developer iCAD has received Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance to package its Second Look Digital system with Siemens Medical Solutions' Mammomat NovationDR full-field digital mammography system.
The joint package combines hardware from Malvern, PA-based Siemens with iCAD's digital CAD technology and algorithms. The CAD system automatically identifies and marks regions associated with cancer on Siemens' MammoReportPlus softcopy reporting workstation, according to Nashua, NH-based iCAD.
